PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Join the energetic team at Bigvision Community as our Program Coordinator. We are seeking someone with a dynamic personality, organizational proficiency, excellent communication skills and a dedication to helping individuals who are on their recovery journeys as well as those seeking a substance free alternative.
Bigvision is a non-profit dedicated to empowering young adults overcoming substance use to lead rewarding substance-free lives. We provide a nurturing peer community working towards eliminating stigma around addiction and demonstrating the possibilities of a fulfilling substance-free life. This February we will be opening the first substance free social club at 49th and 2nd Avenue.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
❖ Lead the creation, management, and oversight of community programs & events at the 309 Social Club (the new home of Bigvision Community). Plan an average of 16 programs per month, ranging from recurring to one-time events.
❖ Develop and maintain relationships with treatment centers, sober influencers, and alike organizations. Promote our services and maintain relationships.
❖ Build and nurture relationships with existing and potential community partners.
❖ Foster participant connections, promote community outreach & oversee event planning.
❖ Manage collaboration, coordination, and contracting with program partners. Evaluate program success, distribute and collect participant evaluations.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
❖ 3+ years relevant professional experience; Bachelor's degree.
❖ Experience in recovery community leadership (preferred).
❖ Proven success in community building, supporting young adult recovery, managing multiple projects, and leveraging stakeholder relationships.
❖ Able to work independently and as part of a team; initiative-taker and team player.
❖ Experienced in community outreach; dynamic, high emotional intelligence.
❖ Familiarity with the local recovery community
❖ CARC, CRPA, NCPRSS or similar certification preferred.
❖ Lived experience with substance addiction recovery.
❖ Program planning, coordination, and group facilitation skills.
❖ Strong interpersonal boundaries.
❖ Willingness to work some evenings, holidays, and occasional weekends.

The Shefa Teacher Residency is a groundbreaking and highly selective program that recruits and trains individuals to become exceptional teachers by providing an intensive and supportive school-based teacher training program. Over the residency year, teacher residents train in classrooms with mentor teachers and take on increasing responsibility for teaching
while gaining support through on-site professional development, workshops, and coaching. Residents receive robust training in a variety of programs including Responsive Classroom, PAF Reading Program, and Multisensory Math. At the end of the year, teacher residents are not only eligible candidates for The Shefa Teacher Fellowship Year - a direct pathway to a
lead teaching position - but also have the opportunity to apply for a student support role at Shefa.
Key Responsibilities: Teacher residents are responsible for supporting students in the classroom in a variety of subject areas alongside lead teachers. In addition to supporting the curriculum development and delivery of instruction, teacher residents will participate in assessing student learning, managing classroom routines and behavior, building relationships and communicating regularly with families, and collaborating with other faculty. Residents will be responsible for a variety of duties throughout the school day, and will participate in weekly Residents Cohort Meetings as well as a three-day new faculty orientation in late August 2025.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree and experience working with children. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Jewish setting and experience working with children with language-based learning disabilities. Stephen Wise Free Synagogue (NY, NY) is seeking bnai mitzvah tutors who are reliable, responsible, committed to helping their students and capable of working with children with various needs.Prior experience tutoring bnai mitzvah is STRONGLY preferred not required.
Tutors should be comfortable using zoom, google docs, and other forms of technology.
Tutors do not need to do scheduling with their students or work on d’var torah.
Hours:
We are looking for Bnai Mitzvah tutors who are available for the following hours:
Wednesdays @ 3:30pm-7pm (IN PERSON TEACHING at SWFS)
Thursdays @ 3:30-7pm (IN PERSON TEACHING at SWFS)
Salary:
Please note that salary is determined by the number of hours and weeks you teach. We will pay regardless of the number of students who actually show up during your assigned times. Tutors are paid in the range of $50-60/hour depending upon experience.
