Gr8 Day Focuses on America 250

Grade 8 had a GR8 day celebrating America 250! The day began on the Lower East Side with a visit to The Pickle Guy, where students heard from the owner and learned fascinating tidbits about the shop’s history and neighborhood roots, which date back to the early 1900s. From there, they explored immigration and everyday life at the Tenement Museum before heading uptown to Broadway for an unforgettable performance of Ragtime. To top it all off, students enjoyed a private talkback with the show’s star and Tony Award nominee Caissie Levy, the perfect ending to a day filled with history, storytelling, and inspiration.
