Grade 5 Experiences Teva
Written By Daniella Schwarz
Grade 5 spent three adventure-filled days at the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center as part of their Teva curriculum — and what a journey it was! From hiking through the forest to hands-on limudei hutz (outdoor learning), every moment was full of discovery.
Students built shelters from branches and leaves, walked blindfolded through the woods to sharpen their senses, and explored the forest floor to uncover the secret world of decomposers. They studied leaf shapes, felt the textures of the earth beneath their feet, and listened to the natural “music” of the forest.
Back on campus, the learning continued with ritual and craft clubs — rounding out a week of creativity, connection, and nature-inspired wonder!
