Grade 8 Visits Grade 1 Buddies to Prepare for MLK Programming

Grade 8 students spent time with their Grade 1 buddies learning about the Civil Rights Movement together. The 8th graders introduced their younger buddies to the Children’s March, a powerful moment in history that helped draw attention to segregation in schools. The first graders then shared the signs they are creating as they prepare to march into the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Assembly. Working side by side, the 8th graders helped add details and put the finishing touches on the posters, turning the experience into a meaningful moment of learning and collaboration across grades.
