High School Faculty and Alumni Lead LGBTQ+ Panel

Heschel High School hosted an LGBTQ+ panel during this week’s programming block, bringing together alumni Charlie Feuerman ’21 and Eli Fraiman ’23 alongside current Heschel faculty. In a conversation, the panelists shared their personal journeys of coming out, reflected on the intersection of identity and Judaism, and explored how today’s political climate is shaping their communities. One message resonated throughout the room, while high school can sometimes feel like a time of conformity, it is the qualities that make each person different that become their greatest strengths. Embracing those differences, and taking the time to understand one another, is what builds a stronger, more compassionate community.
