Rachel Goldberg-Polin & Jon Polin Visit with Heschel High School
Heschel High School welcomed Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin for a powerful program with the community. As they entered the room, students and faculty rose to sing “Acheinu,” a song that had been sung throughout the 843 days that the hostages were held in Gaza. Rachel and Jon were joined in conversation by Heschel seniors Haym Suissa and Hannah Goldman. Drawing on excerpts from Rachel’s new book, “When We See You Again,” they reflected on their journey with honesty and remarkable eloquence. In response to questions, they shared messages of resilience and hope, and spoke about how Hersh’s tragic loss might inspire others to bring meaning into the world and help repair what is broken.
