Sephardic Minyan Recites Selichot

Selichot during the month of Elul are one of the highlights of the High Holiday season in the Sephardic tradition.  In previous years, time constraints prevented Heschel High School’s Sephardic Minyan from reciting Selichot.

After reflecting on the matter, and discussing with rabbinic colleagues who lead Sephardic Minyanim in other Jewish day schools, Rabbi Ezra found ways to incorporate an abridged version of Selichot into the Sephardic Minyan, and included it in the Shacharit, the morning prayer, each day in Elul through Yom Kippur
