PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Physical education plays a significant role in the physical, mental and social development of students at the high school. Heschel’s physical education curriculum exposes students to a wide variety of physical activities and learning styles. It is our goal to foster a lifetime commitment to health through activity. The goal of physical education is for students to develop habits that assure them productive exercise that leads to maximal physical health and lifelong fitness. Physical education classes comprise of but are not limited to: fitness testing, circuit training, basketball, floor hockey, speedball, soccer, volleyball, football, ultimate, kickball, handball, and pickleball. These activities build core physical skills such as cardiovascular endurance, strength, coordination, balance and flexibility while at the same time contributing to teamwork, leadership and learning about fair play. At its core, the program is designed to meet the needs of the students' overall social and emotional development.
