Grade 3 Reels in Discovery on the Hudson
Written By Daniella Schwarz
Heschel’s Grade 3 scientists dove into hands-on learning along the Hudson River, teaming up with the Sarah Lawrence College Center for the Urban River at Beczak. As part of their Habitat Symbiosis and Life Cycles units, students waded in with a 30-foot seine net to explore the Hudson’s incredible biodiversity — catching (and releasing!) fish, crabs, jellyfish, and other estuary creatures. Back on shore, they turned their discoveries into data, tallying and graphing their findings like true scientists!
