High School Holds Siyum At Hachana L’Shabbat
Heschel High School held a celebratory ceremony in honor of all the hostages, the survivors of 10/7, members of the IDF, and all their families. Each high school minyan took upon itself to study several chapters from the Torah and as a community we held a siyum - the ceremony that celebrates the completion of a major traditional Jewish text. Five students, each representing one of the books of the Torah, shared insights on what they studied and related it to the events and experience of the past two years. And then another student read the traditional text for a siyum and then students and faculty danced as a full high school community, celebrating this moment and deepening our relationship with the Torah and our community.
