Heschel Celebrates Maxine Feldman
Parents, alumni, parents of alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends gathered to celebrate Maxine Feldman’s 40 remarkable years at Heschel and to mark the beginning of her next chapter.
Head of School Ariela Dubler offered heartfelt remarks, weaving in words of Torah to reflect the profound impact Maxine has had on the many students she has taught over the years. Lea Ashear, Early Childhood Head, and Sharon Shorofsky Mack, Lower School Head, each spoke about her creativity and the lasting imprint Maxine has made on their divisions.
Liat Siegel, Middle School Art Teacher, and Babette Marciano, Lower School Art Teacher, shared personal reflections on how Maxine has influenced their work and shaped their approach to teaching. Guests also watched a moving video featuring Heschel alumni speaking about Maxine and her extraordinary tenure at the school.
The program concluded with a blessing from Rabbi Anne Ebersman as she wrapped Maxine in a scarf created from prints of her students’ artwork.
